Plan a western themed wedding

Whoever said that planning a wedding had to be serious and stressful? With a western themed wedding, you can experience a whole new idea together while making it as unique as you want it to be.

For a western themed wedding, location is everything. Think about having your wedding in an “old west town”, which are located throughout the Midwest and usually offer wedding packages at a cost. You can also find an open prairie and use tents and backdrops that you have designed yourselves. Or just decorate an old country church and reception hall. The important thing is to find your own style and preferences and then incorporate them into your wedding.

Decoration will be your visual focal point for this type of ceremony. To create the ambiance of a western themed wedding, use gold bows, which can be found at Christmas time. You can also use hay bales for guest seating, drive away in a horse drawn carriage and use country music or western movie themed music at your ceremony.

Once you have the ceremony details worked out and you know for sure this is what you both want, began thinking about your attire for your western themed wedding. Watch old western movies to see what brides wore, such as heavy fabrics, long sleeves and a lot of lace. For the groom you could go simple with blue jeans, a brown vest and a brown jacket, of course worn with a hat, boots and spurs. For the bridesmaids, western themed weddings are known for keyhole, dark dresses usually worn with lace up boots. Instead of having them hold a big bouquet of attendant flowers, hand-make headbands adorned with flowers and ribbon.

To decorate your guests’ tables, use your imagination to create the western theme. Buy cowboy hats and line the insides with fresh flowers and baby’s breath, or buy old cowboy boots at a thrift store and let sunflowers dangle from the tops. Adorn small items on tables with things like sheriff’s badges or replicas of old medicine bottles.

Incorporate your western theme even on the dance floor by using kerosene lamps or lanterns hanging from posts instead of the usual string lighting. You can also hunt through antique shops and flea markets to find old wagon wheels and wooden trellises, which can be lined with wildflowers and rope.

Another original idea for guests to enjoy your western themed wedding is to have a corner of the reception hall set up for photos. Find western clothing at thrift stores or western supply stores. And instead of a dollar dance to raise money for the bride and groom, offer them black and white western photos of themselves to take home as souvenirs. You can pay your own photographer an extra fee to take the photographs.

While planning your western themed wedding, have fun and enjoy. The more fun you have planning your wedding as a couple, the more memories you’ll be making that will last a lifetime.

Drum lifting equipment

The standard 55 gallon drum is an almost ubiquitous sight in industrial premises, but their greatest asset – their size – is also a major problem when it comes to handling the drums, and in order to safely move and manipulate them, proper drum handling equipment is necessary.

There are a number of different kinds of drum lifting equipment that are all designed for slightly different purposes. From helping staff to move drums from one place to another, to raising them enough to get them onto a trolley, right through to being able to stack them appropriately and safely, there are custom tools to help under a range of different circumstances.

The most common need amongst production staff is to be able to lift a drum a small distance off the ground in order to allow for them to be placed on a trolley for ease of movement. It can be tempting for staff to try and manipulate a laden oil drum into place on a trolley, although the weight of the items makes this dangerous.

A chain drum lifter is one of the most common sights in an industrial environment, and is one of the most easy to use tools that can be utilized in moving and manipulating drums in conjunction with a crane or other piece of drum lifting equipment. Fitting a chain drum lifter to your oil drum is simple; the clamps fit easily, and are held cleverly into place by the weight of the drum, making it very safe and steady in use. Weighing just 8 pounds, the chain is made of the highest standard steel, and can support a weight of up to 2,000 pounds.

Plastic drum lifters are specially designed for lifting 55 gallon plastic drums with a weight of up to 800 pounds. The device clamps into place at the top of the plastic drum and attaches to the crane in order to provide you with a stable and safe means of attaching a drum to a crane.

As the name suggests, a multi-purpose drum lifter has many different uses, and is designed to make lifting plastic drums easier. Unlike the standard plastic drum lifters, this model comes with a set of three arms that hold the drum, which double as wrenches for opening and closing the fittings on a standard drum to ensure that you always have the right tool to carry out a job once you have got the drum into place.

A vertical drum lifter is one of the most stable pieces of drum lifting equipment that you could require for your needs. This heavy duty lifter clamps firmly onto the top of a standard 55 gallon drum to allow it to be moved very easily. Once the drum lifting equipment is clamped properly into place, you will find that you can safely lift up to 1,000 pounds with the standard model, providing that your crane system is appropriately rated.

Thanks to the ubiquity of oil drums as a standard means of storage, having the right kind of drum lifting equipment on site to make moving and manipulating them simple and safe. Choose the right model based on the type of drum that you use, and the weights you are likely to fill them with, and you will have a piece of equipment that will provide you with all the reliability you need.

How to conduct your own skip trace

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've certainly seen one of those Internet ads: “find your old classmates” and “click this banner.” But do these systems really work?

I'm not going to say a that all of these firms provide a service that is substandard. Because many of them do try very hard to locate the individual in question. They even do occasionally have a success story or two.

The only problem with contacting some of these companies is that due to licensing and data access constraints, they just don't have the resources to do the job in most instances. And frankly, most of what they are capable of, you could do yourself for free. You may not get the results that you want, but at least you'll save yourself that credit card fee that would have been on next month's statement. All for nothing but a little of your time. And with a little bit of luck, that small time investment COULD pay off.

By using the methods that these firms use, you may be able to locate someone really very quickly. Sometimes these techniques are right under your nose.

The very first place to start is the most obvious.

If you're reading this article, there's a 99.9% chance that you own or have access to a computer. Search engines can be a wonderful tool for locating an individual. Use the larger search engines to your advantage. Start by simply putting in the person in question's name. Almost all search engines also have an advanced search feature where you can add other parameters to your search. So by using these tools, you can add all of the information known to you. Once in a while, you'll come up with a direct hit. Sometimes even the whole enchilada. Name, Address, Phone #, etc. You can even use the Google map for directions!

So my advice to you is to always start there. It's the least expensive, most accessible method available to the general public.

There are also a few other methods that the average Joe can use to do a skip trace themselves.

Here are just a couple.

One great method to use in order to locate that long-lost lover or old chum from high school is to simply call any of your old friends that you know had contact with them. You would be surprised to find how many people are still in touch. Occasionally, it can be just that simple. No magic there. A simple phone call and your search is over.

Another avenue for your people search is to beat the sidewalk. If you happen to still live in the town where you knew the person originally, visit the old neighborhood, and any old friends or acquaintances that you can find that still live there. You can also just knock on the doors of the Skip's old neighbors. Ask questions. Lots of them.

Many people love to gossip. If you live here in Boston, you know all too well! Often, you'll find willing candidates that will gladly give you the latest scoop on the person you're trying to locate. Once in a while, someone will grab a piece of paper and give you everything you need. On the spot.

Another method you can use is send a letter to the person you are trying to find to their last known address.

However, some exact phrasing must be present on the letter in order for this to be successful. You must, I repeat, absolutely must, write in larger bold letters above the person's address these words: “ADDRESS CORRECTION REQUESTED, DO NOT FORWARD. NOTIFY SENDER OF NEW ADDRESS.” If the person has filed a change of address card, many times the post office will simply send the letter back to you with the new address on the letter. This is a trick that is not known by many and often will let you know exactly where you're skip trace is now residing. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's exhilarating to know that you accomplished your search for less than the price of a cup of coffee!

A word of caution. It can be dangerous, attempting to locate someone that you have not spoken to for many years. People often change, their lives change and their situations also change. You never know what their world is like currently, nor do you know what you're getting yourself into. Walk lightly, and be very careful. There are many cases where people have been seriously injured and even had their lives taken by attempting to contact someone from their past. Please be careful. We suggest that if you know, or even think, there is the possibility of danger, PLEASE contact a professional to handle the search for you.

Word of caution. I have been trained to handle these situations, and much, much more. Many times, it's not the situation itself, but the unseen that can cause problems. I am trained to handle these instances. We know that you want to find this person, but for peace of mind and personal safety, we always suggest that you contact someone that specializes in the field. Let us free up your time, provide for your safety and use our expertise to make every attempt at realizing your goal and locating the person in question.

As I mentioned above, there are many databases available for searching in order to locate someone that has long since moved away. However, one of the benefits of being a licensed investigator in the state of Massachusetts is that I also have access to databases that are not accessible by the general public. This gives me the edge necessary to provide you with results. After a quick consultation, you'll also see that this is quite affordable.

Sometimes, even less than what you see in those self-help kits advertised on television or online. Consultation is always free. So if you are looking for someone, take just a minute and call my office. It only takes a few minutes, and we may be able to help you decide what avenue is best for you. We do have some excellent success stories, and my firm could help you locate that part of your life that you miss so much. So don't lose any more precious time. The military life then and now

For many Americans, being a part of the military is the only way of life they’ve ever known. Generations of male family members, and now female as well, have been a member of the armed forces, living and moving around the globe from base to base. Others have joined for shorter terms; they’ve proudly enlisted to protect our country during a time of unrest, enrolled to obtain funding for education or simply wanted to gain experience to utilize in their futures. And although there was recent talk of reinstating the draft, we’ve avoided it so far. So currently, whatever the individual reason is, the choice to become a member of our prestigious military is a personal and optional one.

Today’s military is quite different than that of our fathers’, grandfathers’ and even those who went before them. It still entails a great deal of hard work, dedication and pride, however there are presently greater options for members of today’s armed forces. These include advancements in such areas as education, private-sector employment and of course, the decision to allow women to hold combat positions.

Housing has also advanced in leaps and bounds. The familiar barracks of the old days are quickly being replaced with full-featured ‘installations’ that include modern accommodations, sports arenas and other recreational opportunities on the grounds, as well as family support in the areas of counseling, education, medicine and more.

And although our military processes have come under quite a bit of scrutiny over the past few years, being a part of any of the five main sectors of the United States Armed Forces can provide a challenging and rewarding lifestyle. Whether it be the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard, members can look forward to long or short-term careers with benefits that can last throughout their (and their family’s) lifetimes just for holding that veteran status.

Every opportunity has its pros and cons and life in the military is of course, no different. If you’re considering a new career direction or just want to learn more about it, there is an abundance of information available online to assist in making the best choice for you.

Wedding ceremony music

Music is an essential part of our daily lives, and it has the power to make your wedding ceremony a truly special occasion. Because so much depends on the music, you have to make sure you plan it carefully. The music you chose can make or break your event.

When choosing your wedding ceremony music, be sure you select music that corresponds with the formality of the wedding. Among other things, keep in mind the religious affiliation, and the length of the ceremony when planning the music. If you ceremony is held in a church, you can expect help from the church organist. Before you finalize your wedding ceremony music, there are a few important issues to consider.

3 Common Musical Categories

Classical – This genre of music conforms to an established form and appeals to critical interest and developed musical taste.

Examples of classical wedding music are:

"Canon in D" (Johann Pachelbel)

"Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin" (Richard Wagner) (also known as "Here Comes the Bride")

"Air" (from Water Music Suite), (George Frederic Handel)

"The Prince of Denmark's March" (Trumpet Voluntary in D major) (Jeremiah Clarke) "Guitar Concerto in D Major", Largo, (Antonio Vivaldi)

"Coronation March for Czar Alexander III" (Peter I. Tchaikovsky)

"Overture" (from Royal Fireworks Music), (George Frederic Handel)

"Promenade" (from Pictures at an Exhibition), (Modest Mussorgsky)

"Sinfonia" (from Cantata No. 156), (Johann Sebastian. Bach)

"Cantata No.29" (Johann Sebastian Bach)

"Prelude and Fugue in C" (Johann Sebastian Bach)

"Toccata" (from L'Orfeo), (Claudio Monteverdi)

"Romance from String Quartet" (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart)

"Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major" ("Elvira Madigan") (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart)

"Trumpet Tune in A-Major" (David N. Johnson)

"A Midsummer Night's Dream, incidental music, Op. 61 Wedding March" (Felix Mendelssohn)

"Winter," Largo or "Spring" Allegro (from The Four Seasons), (Antonio Vivaldi)

Sacred – Sacred music is dedicated to religious themes and symbols. It is music considered worthy of religious ceremony. Schedule a time to meet with the church organist before you begin selecting your ceremony music. Beware that some churches have very firm rules on what music is used in liturgical settings. The church organist should be well qualified to help you in selecting your wedding ceremony music.

Secular – Secular music is dedicated to non-religious subject matter. It is not necessarily forbidden during religious service, but you have to confirm with your house of worship that your chosen music is approved.

Examples of secular wedding music are:

"At Last" (Etta James)

"Only Time" (Enya)

"Come Away With Me" (Norah Jones)

"Appalachia Waltz" (Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Mark O'Connor)

"Unforgettable" (Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole)

"It's Only Time" (Magnetic Fields)

"The Look of Love" (Dionne Warwick/Burt Bacharach)

"The Vow" (Jeremy Lubbock)

"Come What May" (Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor)

"Storybook Love" from the movie "The Princess Bride" (Willy DeVille)

"Wedding Processional" (from The Sound of Music) (Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein)

"Can't help falling in love" (Elvis Presley)

"What A Wonderful World" (Louis Armstrong)

"When I'm Sixty-Four" (The Beatles)

Las vegas weddings at lake mead

If you are planning a wedding in Las Vegas, you may want to consider getting married at Lake Mead. There are several options to choose from if you would like to get married at this famous man made lake.

Lake Mead Cruises offers wedding packages that take place aboard their Mississippi style paddlewheel boats. The Desert Princess is the larger of the two boats they have available. It features two enclosed decks and an open air deck. This boat can accommodate groups of up to 250. The Desert Princess Too is available for groups of 75 or less.

Ceremonies can be performed on the top deck of the boat with the beauty of Lake Mead creating the perfect setting for your wedding. Packages include a wedding cake, champagne toast, and up to three hours of cruise time on the lake. You can also purchase additional time if you want your reception to last longer. Some packages even include keepsake boarding photos which would make great wedding favors for your guests. Hors d’oeuvres or sit down dinner receptions can be arranged and several bar packages are offered. Their menu offers you the choice of salmon, chicken, prime rib, or pasta entrees which are accompanied with salad, bread, and side dishes such as rice pilaf and vegetables.

Lake Mead Cruises can help you arrange entertainment for your wedding. They also provide a list of vendors for the services that do not come with their packages such as the minister, florist, and photographer. Package prices are more expensive on Fridays and Saturdays.

Another option they offer, rather than chartering the whole boat for your wedding and reception, is to have the ceremony on the top deck prior to one of their scheduled cruises leaving. You can then pay the regular per person rate for you and your guests to join the cruise after the ceremony if you’d like. Champagne brunch, mid-day, early dinner, and dinner and dance cruises are all offered. Rates for this run about $20-$60 a person depending on the cruise and group discounts that are offered.

If you don’t want to get married on a boat, you can still enjoy the scenery of Lake Mead by getting married in a park in Boulder City that overlooks the lake. The-Wedding-Company. com is a Boulder City, Nevada based company that provides this wedding package. The package also comes with a bouquet and boutonniere, photography, transportation, music, wedding cake, and a minister to perform a civil, religious, or renewal ceremony.

Lake Mead is a fantastic place to have a wedding. It really is an oasis in the desert and is quite impressive when you consider that just decades ago, this enormous lake was nothing but desert.

Wedding dresses and their importance

A wedding is a solemn occasion. It is also a special event by which two willing hearts and minds unite by an eternal bond of everlasting love. Hence, the apparel of the bride and the groom should be thoughtfully chosen to reflect the significance of the grand occasion. The wedding dress of the bride comes in bright, auspicious colors styled uniquely in conformance with the ceremonial importance as determined by the culture and religion, which sanctifies the marriage.

Features of a wedding dress

Wedding dresses come in various colors, forms and styles corresponding to the many cultures and fashions from which they hail. Wedding dresses are characterized by their exquisite grace and charm. Though the term wedding dress usually refers to the bridal gown worn by Western/European brides, all the various kinds of dresses worn by brides worldwide come within the ambit of wedding dress.

Wedding dresses vary with regions, customs, cultures and religions. The Oriental, the Indian, the Middle East, the African, the Mediterranean, and the American - all have their respective typical wedding dress codes. Whatever may be the type of wedding dress of the bride - a bridal gown, a sari, a kimono, a Salwar Kamiz with wedding veil, it is created to spell elegance and hold the audience and especially the bridegroom spellbound. Wedding dresses are secured from the highly skilled artisans who use the best fabrics and the most intricate embellishments - elaborate patterns and designs to create the choicest dresses of the respective culture. The exquisite wedding dresses thus made serve as a reflection of the culture concerned too.

Considerations in selecting the appropriate wedding dress

In marriages the appearance of the bride and the groom is of prime importance. The wedding dress or the bridal attire requires special mention in this regard since the bride is the cynosure of all eyes at the wedding and therefore her attire commands utmost attention. The wedding dress should be selected with due care with respect to the following considerations:

1. Checking bridal magazines to get a better idea of what fashions are in vogue.

2. Seeking opinions from select friends on the dress selection and trying to view choices made from their perspective.

3. Thinking over the kind of party to be hosted and the prevailing mood - formal or casual.

4. Budgetary constraints set up regarding purchase of dress.
